ESI Hospital, Sealdah, is a centrally located, well - connected, and multifunctional institution with the unique promise of providing various services to ESI beneficiaries. 

It is located in a historic structure with a rich history that evokes the Golden Age of our National Freedom Movement.

The National Medical Institute (Jatiya Ayurbignan Vidyalaya) was founded here in 1921.

It was founded under the direct partnership of national leaders such as Pandit Motilal Nehru, Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das, C. Raja Gopalachari, Saifuddin Kichloo, etc., in response to a resolution adopted at the Nagpore Conference of the National Congress in 1920.

In 1932, India's first National Medical College was established. This property was subsequently sold to ESI authorities.

A 10-bed hospital was built on the land granted by Maharaja Manindra Chandra Nandy of Cossimbazar.

The ESI Hospital Sealdah, which started operations on December 17, 1964, has evolved over time from a tiny unit to a multifaceted hospital.
